Burke's Law with Gene Barry is binging on CBS 2.2. The beauty of this show is that the formula becomes another character in the hour long melodrama. The device of casting stars from earlier Hollywood is really charming. There's a certain pleasure of seeing Tom and Dick Smothers playing suspects in the weekly whodunnit. In the current episode, Barry as LA Police Captain Amos Burke, always has romantic interludes with beautiful co-stars and the plots are loaded with gorgeous women and plot twists that seem to have a subtle nudge and wink.
'63 Volvo relates to a chase that was supposed be in a European location. Griffith Park doubled for the chase that involved identical Volvos. Such fun to see 'classic' cars in brand new condition. The show is in black and white and predictable: guilty pleasure.
