ELLEN CORBY!

October 10, 2016

CLOUDS!  Now and then we get them across the  Hill!  I wish I could get a better angle on that lone palm tree over there.
///

Ellen Corby was a script girl for Laurel and Hardy and is probably most famous for her role as Grandma Walton on Earl Hamner's long running television show, The Waltons.

Today marks the anniversary of Orson Welles' death in 1985.  The local CBS station dedicates itself to "Decades" that features elements of the past related to famous incidents and well known people.  In the Lucy episode featuring Orson, Lucy calls her high school drama teacher, Ellen Corby, to invite her to see Lucy play Shakespeare with Orson!

This may be one of those degree of separation things.  I knew Ellen.. slightly.. and also, dear Earl Hamner.. and even saw Orson one time.  Do we increase our personal worth somehow by our brief associations with famous folks?
