Off to Calabasas..
Later on Monday..
The campus at the Motion Picture TV Fund is spectacular. Professionals who have spent their careers in any aspect of Film or TV are eligible to apply to take up residence in Calabasas. The residents are treated like royalty. My friend who has recently moved there is delighted.
To me it looks a bit little like Stepford, but without the weird and beautiful women. Fortyeight acres of rolling sidewalks, topiary and free access to meals, laundry and a large library with social activities all make retirement look pretty swanky. The Jody Foster pool in the Saban Health Center is pristine with classes in everything physical that one can think of. And.. work out equipment to stay in shape. Great! Right off the 101.
Lunch across the road at the Sagebrush Cantina made my first visit to see Johnny Gunn terrific.
They have a large staff and volunteers who are gracious and just plain nice. I'll go back and get Johnny playing Bocce (can't find a place for petanque yet..). His back yard is perfect for that game.
Life goes on!
