PROOF IN THE PUDDING.. UM.. ICE CREAM!

September 6, 2016
Rating four brands of ice cream regarding truth in the information listed on their cartons.  Each brand is unique in texture, butter fat, etc.  Each in its own way tastes just fine.  The Haagen Dazs and Ben and Jerry's are much more expensive.

Ben and Jerry's "A"...16 oz marked 16 oz
Haagen Dazs "B+" about 13 oz marked 14 oz
Dreyer's  "C-"  38 oz marked 1.5 quarts 48 oz
Thrifty "C-" 9.5 Oz marked "1 Pint" (16 oz)

It seems that ice cream makers are making up their own rules.  I checked other milk products. Cottage Cheese is sold by weight that checks out.  A quart of milk is fluid measure and weighs 32 ounces.  Yogurt is sold by weight and a four pound tub of yogurt weighs four pounds.

Please click on photos for larger images. My tech skills in posting photos is marginal!

Dreyer's 38 Ounces (1 Pound 12 Ounces) Should be 48 ounces (2 Pounds 16 Ounces)

Haagen Dazs 13 ounces

Haagen Dazs Appx 13 Ounces actually

Ben and Jerry's 16 Ounces

Dreyer's 1.5 quarts (Actually 38 Ounces) !! Actually
