MAY GRAY

May the Fourth!.. 2016

May Gray..  The complexion of the day and of my spirits flux with the sun and the not sun. We used to experience "June Gloom" as the overcast would come then.. In June.. but over the past few years the gray has crept in earlier.  Hopefully, it'll burn off and we'll have either some moisture (good luck with that) or some blue skies.

Still wading through The Sound and The Fury.  Faulkner has been declared one of the most influential American writers of the 20th Century.  This book is such a challenge!  Dialect and character changes and name changes and time changes.. but, somehow, just the flow and the images keep me engaged.

Politics and preaching to the choir on Facebook are unavoidable.  It's an emotional time and the choir I seem to be part of is back and forth on Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Sanders.  The other folks are just scary.  The fear is almost palpable.

I'll pick up yard signs to support Laura Friedman's bid to represent the 43rd California Assembly District. She's an arts advocate and I like her.  Four years ago, she and her husband made art for  the July Fourth Project at the Adam's Square Service Station.  Thanks for that, Laura!

  Onward.
