Contrail? Coming right out of the gorilla's head! He is looking less and less like a gorilla these days.
I do my best to remain apolitical. A dear cousin posted a photo of Nazis at a rally with swastikas abundant and pointed out that they were 'socialists!' This, to me, is like displaying a photo of Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptists picketing funerals with signs that read "God Hates Fags" and saying that they are "Christians." I highly recommend "Jesus Camp" the wonderful documentary film by directors Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, to get an interesting take on how children are indoctrinated into specific beliefs, including 'worshiping' a full sized cardboard cut out of George W. Bush.
The terrible news of a double suicide of people I used to know, has me reeling a little.
Reading Jostein Gaarder's "Sophie's World" helps a bit, but retaining the essential ideas of all those philosophers is a real trip! Also, I've just finished reading a book by a former police captain who is convinced that he had lived a former life as an obscure American painter, Carroll Beckwith. He underwent Past Life Regression Hypnosis to discover his 'past lives.' His extensive research into the scrapbooks and journals of Beckwith are compelling. I remain skeptical. However, having had a personal "out of body experience," Hamlet's line comes back to me, "There are more things, Horatio, in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
