Driving up the Golden State Freeway today, the clouds were terrific. How the rains come and go is like a dance. They race across the territory, teasing and testing us.
I've just finished the dance with William Faulkner (Thank you, Jan Munroe). The man is a poet and his challenge is to simply read. I was asked today to assess the literary importance of the man and I am not scholar enough to do that. After I finished The Sound and The Fury this morning, I went back to the beginning of the book and it made slightly more sense, but still.. the language (what a vocabulary!) at times paints such gorgeous images that I wanted to write them down.
